There is no substitute for perseverance, hard work, determination, and passion for what you do.
If you love what you do, nothing else matters, neither awards nor compensation. Not even the gratification of seeing your face on newspapers or television.
Awards and money are significant, but it shouldn’t distract you from the sheer joy of living the life that you deserve and following your heart to make your dreams come true.
If, one day, you will consider shifting your career, moving to another place far away from me, starting a new thing that you are mad about or finishing a current situation that bothers you… And I tell you “You are too young or too old, too inexperienced or fool” or maybe “You don’t have to take this risk, all I have is yours!” or “Here what’s better for you”
Just listen to your heart, and screw me for not giving my child the opportunity to go after a dream that you lived and prayed for.
If you succeed doing what you want to do, it would make me proud. But even if you don’t, you will always have my arms to embrace you, and most importantly, you will have no regrets that you didn’t try.
Remember how constantly I tell you about how important is to make your way up in the world, no matter where you are, and how people try to defeat you, without waiting for your parents, your country, or chance to pull strings and make it favorable for you. You create the right moment; it doesn’t come by chance.
You will only enjoy success when you work hard for it, and not when you have it handed on a plateau!
Remember, to always stay real and close to the ground, because even if you become the most famous star, you need to always remember you are a daughter/son, a sister and a friend. Fame, power, and money may fade at some point, what will remain is the real world based on real relationships.
I have learnt the hard way that you can’t always win in life, that everything you want may not come your way, that events do not always turn out the way you want them to. You have to learn that to win some, you have to lose some. You have to take life’s ups and downs in your strayed. The things that really matter in life are relationships, integrity, and respect for your parents and elders. Material success is important but not fundamental to happiness and peace of mind.
I can’t tell you enough about the rejuvenating power of prayers and a few minutes of your day to close your eyes and breath, be grateful for what you have and enjoy what is around you.
At the end, when your career is on the top or behind you, what remains is family, the friends that you have made and your self-respect. Do not expect or wait validation for who you are, what you feel or deserve from anyone else but yourself. You are a unique, beautiful spirit and you have The Creator’s blessing. No one can ever offer more or better. That’s all that you need to succeed and be happy.
Live a life that is chilly and one that will allow you to live with your own conscious. You can handle anything with your own strengths and your deep motivations.
Everything else is transient and remember that, as long as you have faith in yourself, you can always start from the beginning and win again.
